Why choose Data & AI Governance?
AI is already in every business. Almost none have documented governance. The EU AI Act is in phased enforcement, the ICO is actively investigating, and ISO/IEC 42001 is becoming the enterprise standard. This qualification says you can build the frameworks organisations need — and defend them.

Our Curriculum
Level 4 • 15 months + 3 months assessment
Foundations of Control
Establish the core principles of effective data governance. You'll implement data quality standards, define ownership and accountability, and apply Master Data Management practices to ensure consistency and reliability across systems. You'll work directly with GDPR requirements, completing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and mapping data flows within your organisation. By the end, you'll have built the foundational controls required to ensure data is accurate, protected, and compliant.
Governance in Practice
Move beyond theory into operational governance. You'll design and implement governance processes such as data audits, monitoring routines, and issue escalation pathways. You'll assess compliance against internal policies and external regulations, identifying gaps and enforcing corrective actions. This module focuses on ensuring that governance is not just defined, but consistently applied, measured, and maintained across the organisation.
Risk, Ethics & Assurance in AI
Develop the capability to govern modern data and AI systems responsibly. You'll identify and assess risks including bias, misuse, and lack of transparency, applying frameworks for fairness, accountability, and explainability. You'll respond to incidents such as data breaches, conduct investigations, and implement preventative controls. By the end, you'll be able to ensure that both data and AI systems meet ethical, legal, and organisational standards.
Compliance, Regulation & Oversight
Strengthen your role as a governance specialist by focusing on regulatory compliance and oversight. You'll manage Records of Processing Activities (ROPA), assess third-party processors, and ensure adherence to data protection legislation across jurisdictions. You'll develop governance documentation, enforce retention and data minimisation policies, and support audit readiness. This module positions you as the person responsible for ensuring the organisation can evidence compliance at any time.
Capstone — Governance Implementation Project
Apply your learning to deliver a practical governance solution within your organisation. You'll design and implement a key governance asset such as a DPIA framework, breach response procedure, retention policy, or audit process. The focus is on creating something operational, enforceable, and aligned with regulatory requirements — a deliverable that strengthens governance maturity and can be immediately adopted within your business.
Demonstrating Compliance & Competence
Consolidate your work into a professional portfolio that evidences your ability to apply governance in a real-world context. You'll prepare for End-Point Assessment by demonstrating how you have implemented controls, ensured compliance, and reduced organisational risk. This is not about theory — it's about proving you can uphold governance standards in practice and operate as a trusted Data Protection and Information Governance professional.
